Overview
This game was built as a contract-partnership with the 704Games Studio and the Simulation & Game Development (SGD) work-based learning program. At the request of the client, a mobile game with a working concept of "Racing" and a "Roller Ball" theme was to be the concept for the game and the team was to expand and build the game with those constraints.
This was a fantastic experience for both faculty-mentors and students as an authentic experience with primary production taking place at the game studio in addition to regularly scheduled meetings with the producers and development teams.
The Game
A mobile race game intended for the casual player where they can challenge themselves in unique and comfortable race environments. Players pilot spherical vehicles through futuristic obstacle courses challenged with various types of races: sprints, waypoints, and collection. The added modes of race types add a thrilling element to traditional "race-to-the-finish" gameplay for a rewarding and fun experience!
My Role
For this project, I was brought on as a project manager and game design mentor. I was responsible for leading the game design team and overseeing the entire development team and project through the pre-production, production, and post-production phases.
